About You: 

At HOULÈS our goal is for our showroom to be an inviting, creative, and collaborative environment for our clients. We view our relationships with our clients as being part of their design process. The candidate that would be most successful in this role would participate in our collective team effort while also contributing independently. They would have a positive attitude, established A&D client relationships, and a friendly disposition. They would be self-motivated, focused, a team player, possess problem-solving skills, multi-tasking abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and a genuine thirst for driving sales. 

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Inside sales at the D&D Showroom; assist all clients visiting the showroom or over the phone/e-mail with trimming, drapery hardware, and fabric selections
  • Outside sales in NJ, CT, NY; 1-2 days per week or as business requires
  • Responsible for all aspects of the sales process; selling, pulling memos, order entry, follow up, processing, and tracking
  • Manage/maintain active provided client list
  • Proactive business development; seek/develop new and inactive established clients
  • Be a brand ambassador and a trusted resource to clients on all Houlès product categories
  • Support showroom manager with all daily/periodic showroom tasks; organization, installing new launches, event preparation/participation, and support senior management as delegated
  • Contribute and provide market feedback from clients
  • Establish, travel to, and participate in trade shows in the tri-state area 

Requirements / Skills: 

  • 2-3 years of experience in a showroom sales position and/or outside sales position
  • Valid driver license, required
  • Established A&D client relationships is required
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Interior Design. Knowledge of trimming, drapery hardware, and/or fabric, a plus
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a small team
  • Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook), required
  • Follow-up, organization, planning, and documentation skills
  • Strong work ethic, ambition, and drive
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to an international environment

  • Base salary + monthly commission
