Uli Wagner Redesigns the Marc Phillips Decorative Rugs Showroom
Posted on 02/18/21
Uli Wagner Design Lab has worked for Marc Phillips Decorative Rugs to re-design the showroom for the brand in New York City.
The task was to incorporate additional space to the existing shop area in the most practical and efficient way and enhance the visibility of samples and goods.
Uli Wagner, who is specially trained as a retail architect, created a layout that showcases the maximum amount of curated product, while offering a fair amount of additional stock in the back of house.
The design follows and showcases the updated website of Marc Philips, with dramatically lit photography set in front of a black passe-partout. In the same fashion, the showroom is held darker and moodier, with accented lighting, & rich in textures and hues. Unique architectural features of the shop, such as the row of central columns and a large semi round window, serve as a backdrop to the brand’s latest corporate identity.
